About the Destination

For those who want to go beyond Ephesus, consider Miletus — about 45 minutes south of Kusadasi. This ancient city is the birthplace of Thales, widely regarded as the father of philosophy and the first scientist in the Western tradition. Most visitors to the region never make it there, which means you will almost have it to yourself.
